[attr="class","LD1textarea"] Megara was your average free spirited and quick-witted young woman in Olympia until she made a very big... and very bad decision which changed her life forever. Megara was in love with a local lad named Plato (not the philosopher). When the boy grew ill, a desperate Megara sold her soul to the evil god Hades to save his life. Hades granted it, but with his interest in the girl, he saw to it that the love of her life found interest in another girl. Megara was distraught and felt like a fool for making the decision she did, but it was too late. She was a slave of Hades. Over time, she went from a free-spirited young woman to one who was cynical and sarcastic. The longer she was a slave, the more dark she became until she was very much a villain herself, doing all manner of dark deeds for Hades and Olympia's Underworld, all while pretending to be... well your average free-spirited and quick-witted young woman. And she became quite skilled in the art of manipulation and seduction.[break][break]
This went on until Hades sent her after his archnemesis Hercules. Megara took to it like any other job at first, setting Herc up by having one of Hades' goons, a centaur named Nessus, pretend to harass her. When Herc came to save her, she joined the hero-to-be on his adventures, with the intent of setting him up so Hades could defeat Hercules once and for all...[break][break]
Well, this little plan feel through when Megara reluctantly found herself growing fond of the hero. Soon, she actually found she was in love with him. Knowing the punishment she would endure if Hades were to find this out, she had to pretend she was going along with Hades' plot all while trying to prevent Hades from getting his revenge on the Son of Zeus. However, Hades was no fool and discovered the truth. However, instead of simply punishing Megara, he used her as bait to force Herc to give up his great strength in return for Megara's safety. Hades then unleashed the monstrous Titans upon him to destroy him. The plan is foiled when Megara sacrifices herself for Herc, causing the deal between him and Hades to be null and void. Megara revealed she loved Herc before she perished. Later, Hercules saved her in the Underworld. However, this rescue was bittersweet. It brought Megara back to life, but the deed earned Hercules the right to be a god. Megara could not follow him to Mt. Olympus, so tearfully the two bid each other farewell. Now alone, Megara found herself a mixture of what she was before and after she met Hades.[break][break]
Megara tried to live as prosperous a life as possible, opening her own tavern in Olympia called The Cyclope's Eye. Given there were quite a few who liked a good drink, she did well enough. However, she had never been happy since her time with Hercules. She still hoped for the day that he would come back from his home among the gods and rescue her again... from herself.[break][break]
After the Curse hit, Megara became Meg Kromos. She was still very much the feisty girl that she was in her pre-Curse existence. In an odd twist of her days as Hades' henchwoman, she works as a freelance "handywoman", doing odd jobs around the village and even working jobs in the Palace of Hearts on occasion. The Queen has considered her for a few special jobs as well, jobs that appeal to the dark nature lingering inside her. As before, she is quite skilled at what she does... right or wrong.[break][break]
