The clouds parted, sunshine sneaking out and streaming onto Aurore's matching hair. She loved being outside and working in her garden. A storm had just passed a few hours ago, and that left the ground in her garden perfect for pulling the little weeds trying to ruin the utopia she was working to create for her plants. As she pulled on the green leaves, a satisfying little pop sounded as she pulled the roots from the ground. It was therapeutic for her to work in her garden, it let her think and also calmed her mind. She made her way down a row of raspberry stalks. The stalks in this row were in their third year, they had given her a huge harvest last year, but this year they would need to regroup. Raspberries only gave significant fruit every other year. When she got to the end of the row she stood up, wiping her hands on her apron. She needed a drink, and now was a good a time as any to get her supper started. Making her way back to her house, she closed her bottom door, leaving the top half of the door open to the breeze. She had just put a pot on her wood-burning stove when a knock sounded at the door. "Well who on earth could that be?" She said in a musical voice. She didn't know many people yet, she had a few friends, but not many who came all the way out here to the middle of the woods. Lilo had heard of Aurore simply because she had a fruit and vegetables stand in the village. The girl's fruits were the best in town, well Lilo thought so. The berries she sold were the sweetest ones she could find so when she looked for berries early in the morning to bring home for breakfast she would always search for Aurore. The girl's stand was small and many times she didn't have berries to sell so Lilo would have to go elsewhere. Three or four times a day she was finding herself looking for berries to bring home to her housemates and only recently was it brought to her attention that they ought to start a garden of their own.
Here Lilo was at the girl's house, knocking on the half of her room that was closed, and hoping she was be kind enough to help her get her own garden started. She seemed kind from their few encounters. From inside the house she could barely hear the girl sing to herself but could make out what she had said. "Uh excuse me, miss." She spoke in response, "Are you the girl that owns the small fruits and vegetables stand?" Lilo didn't want to be a bother but she also wasn't sure if this home in the woods was actually the girl's. She was taking a stab in the dark, really.

tag: @aurora | "Yeah, I own the vegetable stand in town, what can I help you with?" She found it a little strange that this girl was coming to her house to ask her about her stand in the village. But a customer was a customer. Or maybe this was something more? Aurore stepped forward and smiled at the girl. She was a beautiful girl with dark hair and brown skin. Aurore had often admired her type of complexion. She grabbed two cups from her cupboard and set them on the table. "Would you like a drink?" Since she was getting a drink herself, it seemed rude to not offer some to the guest in her home as well. |
