Emily was the most popular, most loved, most cherished belle of the ball in her town. Every man wanted to be her suitor and every girl wanted to be her friend. She lit up the room with a smile. Her delicate fingers were as gentle on the piano as they would be on a lover. She was rarely alone, always surrounded by a gaggle of her entourage as she played polo in the day and danced at night. The rare time she was at home was spent practicing her piano or singing. She was so musically gifted. She should have been married if not for that. Her parents saw so much more potential for her. She could play for the king and queen in their palace. They were so sure. They were months away from sending her to the capital to find her fame and fortune. But nothing went according to plan. [break][break]
She knew that she wanted to be a wife, to find someone who shared her taste in culture and music and just having fun. She did not want to be alone. So when she found Barkis who appeared to be all she could ever want, Emily clung to the vision. The sparkling in her eyes blinded her to the fact that it was such a whirlwind romance, that her parents did not approve of this man who couldn’t produce any credible references, that her friends admitted feeling so uneasy around him. No, that wasn’t important. What was important was that she was in love. They were going to be happy.[break][break]
But her daddy said no. He said they would marry over his dead body, that he would not let his daughter diminish her potential. Marriage lead to babies and babies led to his daughter never becoming what she was meant to be. He might have been persuaded otherwise if it wasn’t this smooth talking weasel that wanted her daughter’s hand. Emily was furious. She screamed at her parents in a way she had never done so before. She alienated her friends. She held herself up in her room, her piano growing dusty and her voice unused. Her back became hunched as she wrote countless letters to her beloved. They would be together.[break][break]
They found a way. She would run away with the family jewels and a satchel of gold. They would meet up and live happily ever after. They could have everything they could ever hope for. Emily woke in the quiet of night, slipping in the upstairs attic to take her mother’s wedding dress from many years ago. She slipped it along her slender body, doing her ribbons in the dark. She grabbed the money and the jewels, knowing this was enough to start a new life. [break][break]
She ran through the snow, through the darkness, through the woods. And she stood there. And waited. And waited. Where was he? She then heard him, she turned to him, her eyes smiling. She called his name but then she felt something sharp enter her chest. She dropped the bags of jewels and gold at once. She gasped out as she put her hands to her breasts, feeling the blood. Her eyes were on her red hands when the knife hit her again in her stomach. She screamed as she fall back into the snow. What was going on? Her panicked eyes looked up to see her beloved. But he wasn’t helping her. He was the reason why this was happening. He was straddling her now, his weight against hers as he stabbed her repeatedly. Her hands, her chest, her stomach, her throat. Her heart was breaking all on its own as everything went black.[break][break]

Aria lived in what she thought was the prettiest house in the woods when it came to Wonderland. It was filled with glorious antique furniture and glimmering jewels hidden in locked chests. She was living comfortably and yet…her memories were something she would trade all of her monetary means for. But now she was, sitting down at her glorious grand piano playing softly. Here she was with a man that she was married to, someone she did have affection for, but had no recollection of him other than this instinct that they were married. Happily or unhappily would be something she would have to find out later.
