Penny waited, time was coming that the mail man would come around again. The others didn't know why she was so interested in him, or why she put the man on a pedestal. To her he was amazing, he was the best father figure anyone could want. So she wanted to spend as much time with him as she could. So she waited, and waited, and waited some more for the time to come where she could put her books away and spend time with a positive male influence. As the clock struck ten minutes before the man would arrive Penny put her books away and dashed down the stairs and headed outside to wait.
Time seemed to pass by so slow, it was as if it was not moving at all. So the girl turned from the mail box and started heading inside, perhaps they didn't get any mail today, or perhaps he had forgotten about them.

The sun was bright, shining in his eyes. Pongo lifted his hand to shade his face, allowing him to see the road he was on. A straight lane lined with trees and houses. One the left side was a house with a larger yard then the rest. The two story house had a wide base with tall windows and green shutters. A good looking house to be sure. It looked more like a plantation house, out of place in the cookie cutter houses that surrounded it. He placed mail in a box, his eyes still on the plantation house. He was always drawn to that home. But not because of the architecture. Because of the people. 15 children lived in that house, and that is what made it charming. 15 children and one gorgeous woman. He loved everything about that house. Loved? Well, yes. Love. He came closer to the home and saw a darling little girl holding to the mail box. He walked a little faster, anxious to meet her. His hand went to his pocket. He had saved a small stone he had found while on his route. It had a small print of a leaf on it, he thought she would like it. Penny would, he was sure. As he walked closer, Penny walked away. He stopped for a moment. Then started running. "Penny!" He called, "Penny, where are you going?" He ran the rest of the way to the mail box and stuffed the mail in before going up to Penny and grabbing her hand, tenderly.

Penny heard a voice, it was a voice she would know from anywhere. So she stopped in her place and turned around, a smile spread across her face, it was him. He didn't forget about them like she thought, that made her so happy. The girl ran from where she was to the man and hugged him tightly.
"I was so scared you forgot us." The girl really did enjoy the man's company, he was her only father figure, she was always happy to see him, and even if he wasn't going to adopt everyone, she would always think of him as her father figure, even if she was adopted by someone else.
She looked up at him and smiled. "How was work? Did you meet anyone new?" Penny felt like she could be relaxed around Rod and that was a good thing, she was always so scared and shy that she never really had the chance to just be herself.

Pongo embraced Penny, his grin spreading wide over his face. "forget you? How could I forget my favorite people in the whole world!" he emphasized his last words by squeezing her tighter in the hug. He loved being here. The kids, he adored. The house, was charming. The house mother... beautiful. He could not get enough of the whole family. Or at least he thought of them as a family. Sometimes even his family. "Well, I did give some plants to a scientist at the palace! Have you ever been there?" He asked her, walking toward the house with her.
(Sorry for the short post!)

Penny smiled, his words were reassuring. She loved that she was one of his favorite people. Truth was he was her favorite person right next to Patrick her brother. She hugged him back his hugs were the best hugs in the whole wide world, right next to Perry's and Patrick's. When he brought up the palace she shook her head.
"No, but I hear its a really big place. I think it would be a really cool place to visit. I always wanted to meet the queen, I want to know if she is nice. but that would be really scary because meeting new people in new places is really really scary." she said her voice getting quieter as she spoke as she started to scare herself with her anxiety. "perhaps It would be best if I just read about them in my books." She smiled up at him.

Pongo looked down at her, noticing her declining volume. "Books are a wonderful way to learn about things." he assured her. He squatted down so he could be at eye level with her. "But if you wanted to go to the palace with me, I would take you." Of course, he would ask Perry, but Penny would love the palace. Maybe not the queen, but she would love Eve and the courtyards and the library. She would adore the library. "If we went there together, it wouldn't be so scary, would it? And maybe we would just look around the palace and meet new people a different day." He added the last part so she could feel more secure in her surroundings. Pongo studied her young face. He had been wanting to spend time with each of the children, but it seemed to be so hard to find the time. He hadn't considered bringing them with him to work yet.
