Something about the Wood felt homey to Mason. He felt in his niche climbing the trees and hanging out in them. The only problem was, there was rarely anyone around to have any fun with when one was just lounging about in trees. Still, he had taken a little venture out into the forest today. Considering that he had no plans for the entire evening, it was a good time to do a little... soul searching. As he walked through the trees he assessed the way he had spent his time in Wonderland thus far. Nothing too exciting had happened, sadly. The younger people, the teenagers as it seemed he just missed the deadline, were throwing a bonfire tomorrow night. He was trying to decide if it was worth crashing, considering they said others were welcome if they so chose. It would be a nice place to make a few friends and meet some interesting people. He needed something to do around here, after all, besides wander the woods and people watch every day. Still, had hadn't set his sites on any specific... prey just yet. Why had that word come to his mind, he wondered? It wasn't like he was going to go around eating people. No, he couldn't do that nor did he want to. He just wanted to have a little fun, after all. He sighed, leaning up against a tree and looking up into the branches above. What a world he lived in. Suddenly, he heard the sound of someone walking through the trees. He pushed off the tree he had been leaning on and looked around until he found the source of the sound. He could only see the back of her from his vantage point. A brunette girl. What was she doing out here? He slipped around to the other side of the tree and leaned against it once more, that way she would be able to see him when she turned around. "Lost?" he said, softly. Lost. Violet was completely and utterly lost in the woods, and she was trying to find her way back to the village. Why had she even gone in the woods? She knew it was not a place that she even enjoyed. It was dark and mysterious. There were people that lived out there, and for all she knew, they could be dangerous. Worst part about that was she didn't have a clue about defending herself if such a situation was to arise. But now she was lost, which only brought a heightened sense of fear into her chest; a fast pace beating of her heart that she wasn't sure how to slow down. It was like she was having anxiety. No. She probably was. Violet hardly knew anyone, and she hardly knew the area. How could she not be afraid? Her feet carried her gently through the leaves that scattered the ground; each one crunching beneath her feet. Every twig that she stepped on that snapped scared her, making her think someone was around. And that eerie feeling that someone was watching, would not go away. Violet just wanted to be home at this point. She wanted to be in her room, by herself. In fact, she'd even take the company of her annoying brother. She loved him dearly, and she always would, but they were indeed brother and sister. It was their job to not get along. She continued on, feeling tears well up in her eyes, but she told herself not to cry. What would crying do, but make her look stupid if anyone were to find her? Whenever a tear would push up enough to fall down her cheek, she would roughly wipe it away. There was no time for tears. She needed to find her way out, and before it got dark. Then a voice rang out behind her, causing her to spin around quickly. There was no one there. At least, not on the ground. Her eyes made their way up into the trees until she saw a boy standing on a branch. Should she tell him she was lost? If she did, he could help her. Or, he could completely take advantage of the fact. She didn't know him and she had never seen him before. She could not trust him. "No. Of course not." She told him, her voice slightly shaky from her nerves getting the best of her, her hand shooting up to wipe another tear away. @kaa

The girl was lying, but Mason could appreciate her need to act strong. He slipped of the branch he was hanging out on and landed on the ground in front of her, leaves crunching under his feet. "Well, would you like some company then?" he talked calmly, nonchalantly and almost as if he was bored. Still, he took a step toward her, raising an eyebrow and holding a hand out to her, "I could show you to the village. I mean, you obviously know where you're going but if you need a hand," he looked down at his literal hand on that word, then looked back up at her with expectant eyes. She had been crying, it seemed. This made him even more intrigued by those big shining eyes. How did a pretty girl like that get herself lost in the trees, crying by herself? Surely she had some friends around here... unless she was just that anti-social. Still, something about the way she stood straighter when he addressed her... the way her eyes were so wide and innocent looking, but there was a fire burning in the background. No, there was more to this girl then met the eye. Mason found himself wanting to know what it was... Oh, and he would find out. He always got the answers he wanted. All he needed was time, patience and a little persuasion and this little thing would be in the palm of his hand. He had to admit to himself, he liked the thought of her being here. VIOLET ISOBEL PARR

Her body flinched as he allowed himself to fall to the ground in front of her, ready to make an attempt to get away if he came too close. Her dark eyes stayed locked on the boy in fear that he might try to do something to her. Though, he seemed to be nice enough, offering company in her moment of feeling lost and alone. Still, she did not know him enough to trust him. There was a vibe about him that concerned her, and strangely warned her to stay away. But, at the same time, something was drawing her in, making her want to know him. It was an odd feeling she had never experienced. Clearing her throat, she straightened a bit more, trying to stay as confident as she could. "I.." Breathe Violet. "I could not stop you if you decided to."Instinctively, Violet took a step back when he stepped forward, her eyes trailing to his now outstretched hand. He wanted her to hold his hand? He offered a way back to the village. At least, that was what he spoke, but was it what he meant? There was something in his eyes that told her he knew she was lying, that she didn't know her way; that she was lost. It was like she was transparent in situations like these. Her nerves and frightened eyes always told the truth. Why did she have to be so weak and afraid? Maybe she should just take his offer. There was no one else there to help her in her time of need. But there was also no one there to protect her. She wished Koda had been there with her, or even Olaf. No, she shouldn't think like that. She needed to be able to take care of herself. Violet was starting to realize she might be a burden to the friends that all seem so confident in themselves. Take a chance, Violet. Put yourself out there. It was then that she made the decision to take his hand. "Thank you. I could use your help." She finally admitted to him. @kaa

Oh, Mason knew full well that she wouldn't be able to stop him from joining her if her really wanted to. That much was clear. As easy as this was seeming to be, Mason knew that deep down the girl wasn't going to succumb to his will without a fight. He liked the rush, though, the rush of someone playing hard to get. He didn't even know what he wanted to to with her once he had her, but that didn't really matter. He liked the chase. The drumroll, if you will. He didn't respond with words as she said that comment about not being able to stop him, but he did raise an eyebrow as she took a step back at his stepping toward her. She was like a little lost lamb, it was so sweet it made him want to chuckle, but he didn't. He simply waited, hand extended, until she was ready to take it. He knew she would, of course. When her skin made contact with his, Masons smile grew. "There's nothing wrong with admitting you need help," he said softly, turning on his heel to gently lead her in the way of the Village. He made sure she was by his side, however, not wanting to walk to fast to catch up to her. He shifted their hands, so that she was linking her arm through his rather than holding hands. He understood the intimacy of hand holding, and was sure the linking of arms was less uncomfortable for the girl. Maybe he was wrong, but she'd live through it. "So, do you have a name?" he asked, looking down at her as he led the way through the trees, the way he had memorized. He spent a lot of time in these woods, so navigation wasn't hard for him at all. Violet wasn't sure why she decided to take his hand. Perhaps it was because she didn't want to be afraid, like she always was. Or, maybe she felt trapped and realized he might be her only way out. There were many conclusions she could come to, but the fact was, she did take his hand. The sensation was odd to her, because it was different. Many times she had held hands with Koda and Olaf. They were her best friends. But this was different and sent a tingling feeling throughout her skin. His words were kind, and his tone soft. It kept her slightly growing confidence in him, but there was still that worry playing in the back of her mind. Violet refused to give up now though. She was on her way to "getting herself out there". Maybe this meeting would result in a new friend. She had to try, and she had to see what would happen. Many times she jumped to conclusions, and later found out she was wrong. Maybe this time would be different. "I always ask for help." She told him, ashamed of what she had just admitted to him. "I'm tired of being the one who has to ask for help." Her eyebrows furrowed, giving a serious look to her face as she walked along side him. When he slipped her arm into his, instead of holding her hand, she felt a little less tense. However, it made her body closer to his, not allowing the distance of arms length that holding hands would. Still, it felt more casual than holding the hand of someone she had just met. "Violet." She told him softly, her eyes staying downcast on her feet as they walked. It made her nervous to even think about making eye contact. "My friends call me Vi though. What's your name?"@kaa

Mason nodded and listened intently as she explained that she was tired of asking for help. "But... there is something brave about knowing to ask for help when you really need it." He spoke with confidence, though his voice never rose. It was low and soothing, as he always talked. Well, except for the moments when he lost his temper with someone... but that was an incredibly rare thing. In face, he wasn't even sure if it had happened yet in Wonderland, he just knew that's how he would be if the opportunity ever arose. Mostly, however, he was incredibly patient and subtle in his goings on with others. Well, until he began to strike... "Violet," he replied when she finally gave him the name. He smiled, pleased with the way it rolled off his tongue. It worked for him. "Do you mind if I stick with Violet? The whole thing is just so..." he chuckled, a low chuckle as he looked away from her and forward instead, "it suits you." He spoke this plainly, as if it was an obvious fact. When she asked his name, he turned back to look at her, but she was looking down at her feet as they walked. He smiled at this, her shyness intriguing him further. "It's Mason," he said, keeping his eyes on her for a moment. If he looked at her long enough, she just might look back up at him. They had found the main road now. Well, the path that people generally used to get through the forest. Still, he didn't release her arm as he led her the correct way down the road. "I assume you live in the village?" he asked in a light conversational tone, one that he hoped would calm her nerves a little more. Though, he kind of liked the energy from her nervousness. His answer surprised her, making her unsure of how to respond. Violet had always kept it in her mind that people found people like her weak, or annoying. She was the epitome of a damsel in distress. She was shy, socially awkward, and could not handle herself if danger were to ever occur. How was she brave, when she was constantly afraid? "I appreciate your comment, but I'm not sure I can agree." She told him, her voice still coming in and out with nerves. She wanted to believe him. She wanted to be confident and think that she was just fine how she was. But, Violet still couldn't help but wonder if her friends would care if she wasn't around. It was such a dark thought, and one she didn't think often, but all of them were so sure of themselves and outgoing. It was not hard for them to join in a crowd and meet new people, while she... she hung out on the sidelines or attached to them. How fun could that be for her friends? Her name sounded nice, hearing it with his voice. There was something about it that soothed her and made her want to hear it again. She couldn't help but smile when he said it was a name that suited her, and only wished to call her by her full first name. "That is fine with me." She told him with a nod, still keeping her eyes away from any sort of contact with his. "Mason." She did the same, repeating it, and letting it stick to her memory. "I like it. It's very handsome." She admitted, slightly taking herself aback by her confession. A pink shade crept onto her cheeks, her eyes finally finding their way up to him, but she wasn't expecting him to already be looking at her. Her eyes lingered for a moment, allowing herself to actually take him in. He was intriguing, and something about him attracted her to the boy. It almost scared her, and the thought of her made her turn her face from him again. "Yes, I do." She answered him with a nod. They had found the main road. Violet knew her way now, and a feeling of automatic relief rushed over her. But he didn't let go of her. She was fully prepared to move away from him, and make him realize she knew her way. Something made her hesitate though, like she wanted to stay, and in the moment of being caught up in her thoughts, she tripped over a small rock in the path. Instinctively, her arms were thrown around his neck to keep her from falling, her sudden fear making her hope he would catch the rest of her weight, instead of taking him down too. @kaa

Mason raised an eyebrow at she spoke of being unsure if she could agree to his words about bravery. "Oh? You simply see yourself as weak, then?" his tone showed that he didn't agree with this in the slightest, almost as if he was laughing at the notion that such a thing were possible. Sure, he knew she was weak, but he knew the power that confidence could instill in a person, and how much more attractive that person could be with it. Plus, he enjoyed created a false sense of trust and security, making his prey feel like they were something special. And even more-so, that they were something special to him. He had just met the girl, of course, but first impressions were the most important. If he made her feel as though he was enchanted by her at a simple glance, her confidence would only grow. "Aw, well thank you Violet," he said softly, creating a sense of fake modesty in his tone at her calling him 'handsome'. Well, his name that is. He enjoyed the color of pink that her cheeks turned at that moment, which caused him to smile even more. She turned away from him again then, which gave him the perfect opportunity for a little retort. "Oh, I'm sorry, is my handsome face too much for those sweet eyes?" he gave a lighthearted chuckle at that, hoping it would make her laugh a little. "I live near the village, but not quite amongst the other homes," he explained as they walked down the road together. Suddenly, his companion seemed to have tripped on something and she was tumbling toward him. He anchored himself, catching her with both hands on her hips as she wrapped her arms around his neck. The entire weight of her was on him it seemed as he took a step back to lighten the blow. He didn't say anything for a moment as he moved to help her come to an upstanding position. She was growing more and more intriguing to him by the minute. Her obvious shyness and clumsy nature was masking something stronger, he was sure of that. He looked down at her face which was so close to his now and smiled, "you all right?"

He was so blunt with his question, it took her a moment to really take in what he was asking. Yes, she did feel weak. She felt it all the time, and she had voiced that to him, in an odd moment of trust. "Unfortunately, I do." She told him, her eyes dropping into a sad look. He seemed to disagree with her, but how could she believe him when she didn't know him? How could he know any better when he didn't know her? They had just met, which meant his words hardly meant a thing, even when she wished they could. But she was smarter than that, and knew better. "I want to believe you, you know? But I just..." She wasn't sure if she should flat out tell him she didn't trust him. It wasn't in her to tell someone something that could make things awkward, or possibly hurt another's feelings. So she dropped it. "You're welcome Mason." She said, her voice coming out soft and sweet. Violet was being as genuine as she could be with the boy, hoping to find a friend in him. Right now, she was being cautious, as she should be, but she still liked the idea of seeing him again. His retort hit her ears as soon as she looked away. A small laugh escaped from her lips, shaking her head in the process. "Oh yes, very much so." She teased back, her body slightly tensing afterward when she realized what she had said. It was only with her friends that the previous side of her would come out. How was he getting her to be comfortable enough to do so? Violet had barely heard his answer before she had taken the tumble, but she never hit the ground. It all happened so fast, but she had felt him; his hands on her hips, his strong arms that kept her from falling. Her eyes were closed as she was falling, trying to not see the crash, but when she was caught she slowly opened them to find her face only inches from his. She found it hard to muster up anything to say, even when he asked if she was alright. All she could do was stare into his eyes; those dark, but beautiful eyes of his. They were haunting, and drew her in. Literally. She felt herself getting closer to him, her lips ready to touch his until... She stopped. Violet turned her face, and pulled away slightly. "I- I'm alright. Thank you for catching me." She finally mustered up. @kaa

Mason let her have her insecurities, for the time being. Her fading off at the end of her sentence gave him the choice to continue the conversation or drop it. He chose to let it go, for now. He didn't want to build her up too quickly, after all. He liked to take his time... marinating the situation. For now, he was going to let her believe that she was weak, just for a little while longer. He could hear the sweetness in her voice, and he loved every second of it. The sound was smooth to his ears. He looked down in a sort of humble shake of his head, giving her a tip that her voice was affecting him. However, he was giving the vibe that he was just as shy and delicate as she was, which was entirely untrue. When she went along with his joke, tensing up afterward, he laughed-throwing his head back for a moment. "You don't have to be so embarrassed by flirting, Violet. You're actually quite good at it so far," he complimented. After she fell into his arms, she took a moment to open her eyes, but he didn't budge. Not even when her eyes slowly opened and she was staring right into his. She didn't answer his question, which to him was better than having an answer. He had rendered her speechless, in this moment. He knew she was brave, deep down, but he had no idea that she would start leaning closer to him. He didn't move, but simply kept staring into those big eyes of hers. His lip twitched on the right side, a half smile forming as she grew closer. Then she stopped, and he let her pull away. What a delicious little clue she was giving him. She was already showing her weaknesses, as well as her strengths. Mason liked knowing both of those things, and Violet had quite a bit of each it seemed. As she thanked him, he gently moved to help her to a stable position. "You're welcome. You should be more cautious," he advised, leaving his hands on her hips for just a moment longer before, reluctantly, moving them away. VIOLET ISOBEL PARR❤ ❤ ❤

Vi was grateful he didn't continue the conversation. Talking about her assumptions that she was weak and then the fact that she hated it, made her feel awkward; vulnerable. She barely knew this guy, yet she was spilling her insecurities to him. What was wrong with her? What was right with him? The young brunette had liked guys before and never got this comfortable. Not that she was really that comfortable. After all, she still tensed up around him and he still made her nervous. Still, there was something different about him; something that intrigued her. Yet, there was still so much to learn about him, and she was finding herself wanting to know everything. A blush swiftly made it's way to her cheeks, her eyes making contact with him as he laughed at her. She knew she shouldn't have tried. She knew that flirting was not her thing and neither was making friends with new people. It was a wonder how she even made friends with the ones she had. Violet wanted to run. Her stomach was clenching and she could feel the burning in the bridge of her nose that usually signaled tears were to come. But then he spoke again, and all of those feelings ceased, leaving a feeling of relief in its place. "I - I am?" She asked him nervously, unsure of the situation despite the fact he had just complimented her. Or, at least that's what she thought it was. "But, why did you laugh?"The fall had caught her completely off guard. Actually, she was sure it caught them both off guard. Violet was lucky that he was quick on his feet and able to hold both of their weight. The reaction she had though; the fact that she almost met his lips with her own, it terrified her. She had never had her first kiss, and yet, it almost happened. She wasn't sure whether to be happy or disappointed about it. Either way, maybe, she made the right choice. At least for now. The young brunette allowed him to move her into a more comfortable, and upright position, making sure she was safe on her feet. She nodded to his comment of being careful. Violet was aware of the fact she needed to be more careful. After all, it was only a few days ago she had almost been blown to pieces by that blasted door. Once again, she was lucky someone was there to help her. His hands lingered on her hips a bit longer and she... she liked the feeling. When they were gone, she wanted them back in place, like they were meant to be there, but she didn't do anything about it. Instead, she took a step away from him and gave him a small smile. "Um, I know my way from here, if you don't want to walk with me anymore." She told him, secretly hoping he would stay with her for a bit longer, which was shown in her next words. "But, I wouldn't mind, if you wanted to continue walking with me."@kaa

Mason was incredibly fond of the way her cheeks flushed and she was clearly stumped by the way he complimented her. He nodded and laughed. "You are. Don't be so surprised," even though she was surprised, he clearly felt the tension between them rest a little, as if she was getting comfortable with him. This was a good thing. When she asked why he laughed, he smiled widely at her, his eyes crinkling a little along with it. "Because you're adorable, that's why. I didn't think you'd go along with my joke about myself being so 'handsome'. I was impressed, and surprised. Amused as well, hence the laugh," he explained. He wanted to chuckle again, but he decided to hold it off. He let himself frown, but only slightly, as she took a step away and implied that she could walk the rest of the way alone. He waited, for he knew the next part would come. It always did. Yes, of course she wouldn't mind him joining her a little longer. He, however, knew that he would most likely be walking her all the way back to her house, if he could get away with it. The way things were going, it wouldn't surprise him if she invited him in... but he wouldn't do it. This was far too fun to burn out to quickly, he needed to let it simmer. He felt a little tug in his stomach at the thought of her inviting him in, however. Eh, he must be hungry. "I would love to join you. I'm headed toward the village anyway," he said, offering his arm to her once more, unsure if she would take it this time. Either way would work for him. Either way would prove he was affecting her. Her eyes became downcast, a smile soon gracing her lips. Violet had never been one to flirt, but then again, maybe she just hadn't found the right one that brought out that side of her. She wasn't quite sure how comfortable she would become with it, but for now, she would take her time and maybe she would find it fun. After all, she was already enjoying the company of the boy that walked beside her. A light chuckle escaped her lips as she looked back up at him. "Thank you. I surprised myself as well. I've never been one to even try flirting." She told him honestly, reaching up and tucking some hair behind her ear. It was slight, but she still noticed it. The frown made her nervous. Had she done something wrong? Violet didn't want to upset him, as she had thought she made a new friend and she wanted to keep him. Maybe she hadn't have told him she could walk alone. Or maybe it was weird for her to say she wouldn't mind him continuing to walk with her. However, her worries ceased when he finally spoke up. "I'm glad to hear. I'm enjoying your company." She said, her words slightly dropping into a whisper toward the end of her sentence. Still, despite the hesitation and nervousness, she took his arm again with a sweet smile before starting to walk again. @kaa

The avoidance of his gaze, the little smile forming on her lips-Oh yes, Mason was getting somewhere with this girl. She was sweet, like an innocent little rabbit. Just prancing along happily not knowing she was in the company of a snake... It was fascinating, really, the way that he found these little gems and they played right into his hands. Still, the innocence was just a hook for him. The underlying confidence, the mad potential, that was what really drew him in. He didn't notice it, not quite yet, but he was actually quiet captivated by her, the way she was with him. "Well, flirting isn't always something that comes with practice. It is often best to experience it naturally without really trying," he chuckled. He understood what she meant, though, which was why he went on. "So, am I to understand there are no other fellows vying for your attention?" he looked away from her as he spoke, looking straight forward at the path ahead of them. Of course she was glad that he'd walk her into town, who wouldn't be? The comment about enjoying his company was pleasant to hear as well, and he actually smiled. Not one of his devil-may-care-i'm-trying-to-seduce-you smiles, but a real smile. He nodded at her, smiling even more that she sort of lost her nerve in saying that she enjoyed him. So, she took his arm and off they were. "Well, I can't say today hasn't been an incredibly lucky day on my part," he said. His honest smile had been whisked away and replaced with his usual smirk.
