Marie enjoyed peace and quiet as much as anyone else, and so to get her's, she decided to wander to the Pool of Tears. She wasn't doing much there, aside from watching the water, and maybe even skipping a couple of rocks here and there, but she was mostly singing to herself. Every day, she felt the urge to practice singing...almost as though it was carved in to her mind. She had no instruments with her at the moment, but she was getting really good at playing the harp. So well that she wondered if someone in her family before she lost her memories had played. But for now, she merely sang. It wasn't a normal song or anything, it was mostly just scales.
"Do, mi, so, do, do, so, mi, do.." she'd sing repeatedly. "Every truly cultured music student knows.. You must learn your scales and your arpeggios.." she couldn't quite remember the rest of the song, but she tried incredibly hard. Did someone teach it to her? Or had she just heard it? "If you're smart you'll learn by heart...what..what.." She gently bit her lip, and sighed. "Oh, I can never remember that part.." She scrunched up her nose, huffing.

James had decided he needed to scope out the Pool of Tears for a Bonfire he was going to be throwing. There were plenty of teens in Wonderland and they weren't spending enough time together! Everyone was worrying about this silly memory loss thing that no one was having any fun. It was rather stupid, if you asked James. So what if you lost your memory? That was a new chance to start over and get a little crazy. So, here he was, at the Pool of Tears, trying to find the perfect spot, nestled in rocks, to throw a bonfire. His thoughts were distracted however when he heard someone singing, and perhaps getting rather frustrated at the lack of remembering the words. He skipped over to her, not bothering to make his presence sneaky or anything. "Holy mackerel, you sing splendidly!" he announced. @marie

At first, Marie was so caught up in her song that she hadn't noticed anyone else walking around... so when she suddenly heard a voice, she snapped herself out of looking off in to the distance, and her eyes went to the boy who looked to be around her age. She blinked repeatedly, and opened her mouth to speak. At first, nothing came out. "Uh.." she shook her head, suddenly realizing she was staring. "Oh, thank you," She looked toward the ground and lifted her hand to tuck her hair behind her ear. Memories or no, the shy demur act came along with her as a package deal. "I didn't think anyone was listening."
She tilted her head slightly to the side, with a confused look on her face. "You seem to be a man on a mission. Did you lose something here?" Or someone, maybe? She wouldn't ask that, though.. a lady would never pry. "Or are you just out for some fresh air?"

"I didn't mean to pry, but it was hard not to with a voice like that," he admitted as she claimed she didn't think anyone was listening. He moved to sit on the rock beside her, bringing both of his legs up crossed in front of him. He wasn't too close though, for he did have a bit of a respect for personal space.
"Aw, yes, I'm looking for a good spot to hold a bonfire! I'm going to be celebrating the teens of Wonderland by tossing a few logs around, playing some games, eating some food. You know, things of the like!" He said with a cheery smile. "You'll be there, I hope?"

Marie had never been shy of her voice, at least as far as she could remember, but if she would have known that there was a boy - a rather cute boy - listening to her song, then perhaps she would have sang something that sounded prettier instead of that odd song that went through her head so many times as though it were a broken record. A blush touched her cheeks when the boy spoke of her voice.. apparently he had enjoyed it. He then told her that he was going to be having a bon fire.. A party where more than likely, all of the Wonderland teens would show up. That meant that she was going to be dragged there anyway by her small group of friends. Namely, Xan.
"Oh, of course I'll be there." She mused with a sweet smile. "I wouldn't miss it. The Pool of Tears is a nice place to have it." She blinked, realizing she was having a conversation with a complete stranger. How rude of her not to introduce herself! Not lady-like at all. "I'm Marie, by the way. It's a pleasure to meet you."

James straightened up proudly as Marie agreed that the Pool was the perfect place for the party. Well, she said 'nice' but it was basically the same thing to James! When she introduced herself, he gave her a dramatic bow and reached for her hand, lifting it to kiss it lightly. "Lady Marie, the pleasure is all mine!" he released her hand and chuckled, standing up straight once more.
"I'm James! Reckless fool and excellent kisser," he joked, winking at her briefly. "I only joke, of course. That's really my specialty, goofing off."
