Sally had been harboring feelings for Jack since she had been created. Those feelings for him were hidden completely until rather recently, and now everything was out in the open. Things were still a little too hectic though for the two of them to really talk in depth about their feelings, though... at least until now. The snow that was a gift from Santa had melted away, and the Mayor was already pulling Jack all over the place to plan for Halloween, complaining that two whole months of planning had gone down the drain. He was in good spirits, though. Everyone was.
Sally had stayed out of the way for the most part, while everyone reveled in Jack's glory. She was happy for him..she was always happy for him. In fact, as she sat atop of the curved hill overlooking the cemetery, she had a smile on her lips as she plucked a wilted flower. It was one of her favorite things to do.. but it used to be for a different reason. She wondered if the flower would tell her that Jack loved her..but she seemed to know that answer now. Or at least.. mostly.

I'd like to join you by your side For it is plain as anyone could see We're simply meant to be Jack had so many ideas for Halloween this year. With the Mayors help, the plans were going as planned and everything was starting to catch up but, Jack, the Bone Daddy of fear had his me in another place, or well with another person. Looking at the mayor, he smiled his boney smile.
"I'm tired, we shall continue tomorrow." The man put away his plans and the Mayor looked at him. "Jack we are two months behind." The mayors face, then switched to the white face and finished the sentence. "We won't be done in time Jack we need to work hard."
Jack sighed, "I understand, and we will get it done, everything will be completed before October trust me." With that said Jack stood from the chair and grabbed a few things before leaving.
He then went to find Sally. Walking through the town, he waived at the clown with the tare way face and smiled at the vampires. He then made his way to the place he and Sally would go.
Seeing her on top of the hill he smiled, she was beautiful just like she always was.

Sally could sense that she wasn't alone. It could have been anyone at the bottom of the hill, but she knew instantly who it was. She turned her head, and smiled when she spotted Jack standing there. "Jack," she mused, rising to her feet. "The mayor let you go so early? I'm surprised." She gave him a shy smile. This was the first time since everything happened that they were able to be alone.. that they were able to talk. "I suppose we have a lot to talk about, don't we?" Things were so different. She used to have to sneak out.. she had to poison Doctor Finklestein to make him sleep, that way she could have freedom.. But he was happy now as well.
He had his new creation to keep him company. The one he shared his mind with... Literally. She was no longer needed, and for that, she was incredibly thankful. She lifted her gaze to the sky, and as she looked out at the large yellow moon, she held her hand out to him. "Come gaze at the stars with me, Jack..they're beautiful."

"Well, I wanted the stop early tonight, I will probably hear about it tomorrow, but it's okay as long as I'm with you." Jack listened as the girl said they had things to talk about and that was true. Sally was smart, Jack loved that about her. When she invited him up to the hill with her, he smiled and walked up to her. He then placed his hands in hers and pulled her into a hug. "The stars are not as beautiful as you my dear."
Jack was being honest, she was truly beautiful and the stars should be jealous of that. He had many questions for her, one that was so important, he wasn't sure about how to ask her on that. So he would wait. They did, however, have many things to talk about and Jack was ready to talk about those things. Even though Sally was experiencing this first hand, she still felt like it was all a dream. It was so hard to believe that only a few weeks ago, everything in Halloween Town was completely different. The only time she could really see Jack or even speak to him was when she snuck out. She no longer had to do that, though. She was free, and now she was in Jack Skellington's arms. She rested her head on his bony chest, and where one would likely think it was uncomfortable, she found it to be the best thing she'd ever rested her head on. Of course, being a stuffed rag doll probably helped cushion things.
"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear you say something like that to me, Jack.." She admitted with a sweet smile. She opened her eyes and looked up at him behind her long eyelashes. "And I've been waiting a long time to be able to say things to you, too. But I have to know one thing first.. Are you happy now? Returning to being the Pumpkin King? Because that's all I ever want for you..is for you to be happy."

Now that Santa had pointed it out, and well he was happy that way. "My Dearest Sally you will never have to wait again. For you deserve all the sweet and scary things in life." Jack really was happy with Sally.
When she asked him if he was happy, if he was happy being the Pumpkin King he smiled. "Sally, I am happy. Thanks to you and the others helping me see that I am The Pumpkin King and that I am the best at what I do made me the happiest man in the world." He didn't want to let the girl go, she was his rock, she was the one who kept him from becoming a pile of bones on the floor.
"Sally, I want you to be happy too, and that would make me happy as well." He wanted to see Sally happy too, now that she was away from the creator she wanted her to know the feeling of freedom, that now she could do as she pleased and not get in trouble for it. words: 191 • tagged: @sally • outfit: link |

How could Sally not be happy? She had everything she wanted. Her friends in Halloween town were all going back to normal, she was finally free of Doctor Finklestein, and she was finally free to allow her feelings to flow with Jack without it all being in secret. She was pleased that he was feeling like himself again. There was a time when he was so down, and out, feeling as though he needed something more. And maybe the whole experience wasn't for nothing.. maybe it taught them all something. But she could definitely say one thing.. "I am happy, Jack." She lifted her gaze, and looked to his dark eyes.
"And with me, you don't have to be Santa, or the Pumpkin King, or anything else.. All you have to be is Jack." She lifted one of her hands, and lightly touched his cheek. He was bony, but somehow he felt so warm, soft, and comfortable to the rag doll. "I love you, Jack Skellington," She mused, telling him her true feelings for the very first time. "I always have.. I was just too afraid to tell you."

He was glad that He could be himself around her. After all, being the pumpkin king was great and all but sometimes he just wanted to take a break, he was so glad that he could just be himself around her and she loved him for it. "Sally, you always did bring out the best in me." He spoke as she placed a soft hand on his bony face, he leaned in to her touch. How he loved her so, she was always their for him, keeping his feet on the ground and being the voice he needed to listen too.
Looking down at her he smiled. She was his everything and he was glad he saw that now. "Sally. I am so glad that I have your love, and though my heart is still every time I am around you it beats a thousand tunes only for you." He looked her in the eyes. He had one question, that one question that men for ages had problems asking, always trying to find the right time, the right jewel, the right place and the right woman. Sally couldn't believe that everything was falling so well in to place. Part of her wanted to believe that everything was perfect, but deep down she had a feeling of doom still. That something was going to happen in the future that she just couldn't stop.. And it wasn't because of Jack trying to be someone new this time... it was because of something different. She couldn't quite place what it was.. but she wasn't sure enough to say anything just yet, either. Not to mention, she wanted to enjoy her time with Jack. "And you bring out the best in me as well.."
She looked at him with such wide, loving eyes. Every time he spoke it was as though he were singing a song that was just for her. He spoke of his heart beating for her, and it made her feel as though she were going to swoon in that very spot and faint...but she managed to stay conscious. "You know exactly what to say. No wonder all of the women in Halloweentown are jealous of me." She teased. Even though it was the truth.. The witches, the sea monster.. they all fawned over Jack.. but he was her's just as she was his. She gazed in to his eyes, and gently bit down on her lower lip. "You look as though you have something on your mind, Jack..what's wrong?"
